Podere della Torre

Podere della Torre Winery was founded in Spoltore, in the countryside of the province of Pescara, as a family project dedicated to enhancing Montepulciano and other native grape varieties of the region. The company’s history is deeply rooted in the Abruzzese farming tradition, built on manual labor and direct knowledge of the land. The hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea, influenced by the temperature variations of the Apennines, offer ideal conditions for quality-focused viticulture. Podere della Torre interprets this heritage through a production philosophy centered on authenticity, balance, and a strong sense of identity.

In the vineyard, Podere della Torre’s philosophy is based on respect for organic certification. Vineyard management avoids the use of synthetic pesticides, favoring sustainable methods that protect the soil ecosystem and preserve its fertility. Every agronomic intervention, from pruning to soil cultivation, is designed to encourage biodiversity and promote plant vitality. The goal is to grow healthy, well-balanced vines capable of achieving optimal ripening without external forcing. Moreover, the characteristic ventilation of the Spoltore hills and the significant day–night temperature shifts create ideal conditions that enhance aromatic concentration in the grapes, resulting in more complex and expressive wines.

In the cellar, Podere della Torre maintains a traditional approach consistent with the work carried out in the vineyard. The grapes are destemmed and undergo carefully calibrated macerations, while fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts to preserve the expressiveness of the terroir. Aging involves a measured use of oak that supports the structure without overpowering the fruit, ensuring the recognizability of the grape varieties. The wines express structure, freshness, and aromatic depth through a harmonious profile, offering immediate pleasure in their youth while also being suitable for aging. They are perfect companions to the most characteristic dishes of Abruzzese cuisine.
