The Spanish winery Fedellos do Couto presents the ‘Conasbrancas’, an orange wine with a refreshing savory vein derived from a complex blend of indigenous white grape varieties. Located within the wild area of Ribeira Sacra, in the eastern part of Galicia, this artisanal winery manages about 7 hectares of vineyards, characterized by a natural production approach aimed at enhancing this noble yet challenging terroir. The heterogeneous richness of varieties and plots available, differentiated by soil types, microclimates, altitudes, and exposures, allows Fedellos do Couto to offer authentic expressions of exceptional quality, interpreting the vintages in the best possible way.

The Fedellos do Couto ‘Conasbrancas’ consists of a composite assembly of Doña Blanca, Godello, Albariño, Treixadura, Lado, and Torrontes. The vineyards are located in the coldest area of Ribeira Sacra, on sandy and granite soils. The grapes, hand-harvested, are 40% directly pressed and 60% fermented spontaneously as whole clusters, with a long semi-carbonic maceration of 45 days. Once the fermentation process is complete, the wine is transferred to old French oak barrels where it rests for 8 months before bottling.

In appearance, the white macerated wine ‘Conasbrancas’ from Fedellos do Couto is a bright golden yellow color. On the nose, it releases enchanting aromas of peach, yellow melon, apple, and dried flowers, combined with notes of bread crust and strong mineral hints. On the palate, it is dry and flavorful, endowed with vibrant freshness and marked salinity that persist for a long time. An interpretation of the original Ribeira Sacra with a strong personality.
