The Chardonnay from the Cantina di Caldaro Kaltern is an extremely versatile wine that always makes an impression, whether in more jovial occasions or in more formal and conventional events. It has a nice crispness on the nose, where savory notes also emerge at the finish, and on the palate, thanks to a vinification and aging process carried out exclusively in steel to preserve the primary characteristics of the grape. A white wine with a direct and juicy character that best expresses the territory of Alto Adige.

It is produced by the Cantina di Caldaro Kaltern from hillside vineyards trained in the guyot and pergola styles, with an age ranging from 6 to 26 years. We are at an altitude of about 350-450 meters above sea level, in a soil primarily composed of limestone and clay, well-drained. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest phase, once they arrive at the winemaking facilities, are pressed whole, and the resulting must ferments in steel containers at a controlled temperature between 18 and 20 degrees. The aging phase then follows, in which the wine remains to mature, still in steel, for 3 months on the fine lees.

This Chardonnay Cantina di Caldaro Kaltern presents itself to the eye with an intense color, reminiscent of straw yellow. Ordered on the nose, it spreads intense nuances of William pear, floral sensations, and hints that recall iodine and brininess. On the palate, it is light-bodied, with a flavorful and tasty sip, benefiting from a distinct mineral imprint. It finishes with excellent length. A versatile bottle, appreciated both at aperitif time and throughout the meal, perhaps during a nice lunch in the company of friends.
