La Regina del Quartuccio
Regina del Quartuccio was founded in 2020 in the heart of the Tuscia area of Viterbo at the initiative of Remo Bartolomei, a young winemaker who grew up among the vines. Harvest time, once a family ritual shared with relatives and friends, gradually became a life choice and an entrepreneurial project. The winery’s name is an intimate tribute: “Regina del Quartuccio” was the nickname of Remo’s mother, a central and inspiring figure. With the support of friends, passion turned into a profession, while maintaining an artisanal dimension. A young winery that weaves together family memory and territorial identity.
In the vineyard, on the volcanic soils of Tuscia, Regina del Quartuccio adopts agricultural practices that respect natural balances: no synthetic herbicides, minimal soil tillage, spontaneous cover crops, and treatments reduced to what is strictly necessary. Plant protection is preventive and targeted, with constant monitoring of each plot. Working with micro-parcels, thanks to their small size, allows for precise interventions and carefully calibrated manual harvesting, preserving fruit integrity and biodiversity.
In the cellar, Regina del Quartuccio follows a minimal-intervention approach: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, no additives, natural settling, and filtration only when essential. The aim is to guide the must without forcing it, working carefully with the grapes already in the vineyard to minimize any corrective intervention. The small production scale becomes a strength, allowing constant observation, experimentation, and clear traceability from vineyard to bottle.In the glass, the wines express dynamism and gustatory transparency. They are living, expressive wine, never overworked, favoring authenticity and rhythm. Each vintage is an authentic expression of passion, territory, and commitment in the vineyard.
