Bosio

Specialising in the production of Franciacorta wines of great class and complexity, the Bosio winery is a family-run business that bases its production philosophy on environmental sustainability and stylistic precision. At the helm of the estate, located in Corte Franca, near Lake Iseo, are Cesare and Laura Bosio, siblings who, with pride for their ancient Franciacorta origins, combine quality and innovation in the service of high-class production. The winery was founded in 1998 and in a short time, thanks to the modern vision of the two siblings, it has become a point of reference among the sparkling wine producers in the northern part of Franciacorta.

The area planted with vines owned by the Bosio sparkling wine house is spread over 22 hectares, all of which fall within the Franciacorta DOCG production area. The varietal platform is centred on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, noble vines at the base of the world's greatest bubbles, flanked by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Barbera, grapes used in the production of red wines. The vines benefit from themorainic origin of the soils and a microclimate that is very suitable for quality viticulture, influenced by the proximity of Lake Iseo, whose presence mitigates the cold currents coming from Valcamonica. This microclimate allows an optimal ripening of the grapes, which is even more favoured by the low grape yields per hectare constantly sought by the Bosio family. In the cellar, fermentation takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks and either steel or oak may still be used for ageing the sparkling wine base. Foaming is instead carried out in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, with very long ageing on the yeasts before disgorging and final dosage.

Bosio's Franciacorta wines stand out for their structure and breadth, qualities that can be traced back to Pinot Noir, the basis of the most prestigious cuvées. These characteristics give Bosio sparkling wines a finely gastronomic character that invites one to enjoy the choice of food and wine pairings.
