Vermentino di Gallura "Sciala" from Vigne Surrau winery is one of the most applauded Sardinian white wines in recent years. It is a true revelation, signed by a dynamic and innovative production reality located in the hills of Arzachena, near the Costa Smeralda. Its mission is to combine a modern approach with the enhancement of the great peculiarities that have made the wines of Gallura known throughout the world.

Vigne Surrau's "Sciala" is a Vermentino Superiore born on medium-imposed hilly soils of granite disintegration, identified by the winery's agronomic staff as the most suitable for the production of intense and structured whites. At the winery, the grapes are immediately crushed and destemmed, followed by brief contact between the skins and the must at low temperature. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16°-18°C. Before bottling, there is a maturation of several months on the fine lees, put in suspension by batonnage.

Surrau's Vermentino "Sciala" is the synthesis of the best characteristics of the type: softness and good alcohol content, balanced by great freshness and intense flavor. The aromas are reminiscent of exotic fruit, sweet almonds, citrus and Mediterranean scrub, with typical iodine and almost brackish nuances in the background. The sip is soft, fleshy and juicy, revitalized by a nice freshness and a well-calibrated territorial minerality that is felt, above all, in the persistence. The perfect balance between complacent softness and exciting acid-saline energy makes it the perfect match for savory seafood soups, fish or vegetable soups, white meats and fresh cheeses. In these cases, wine critics and the enthusiast public have agreed in giving it attention and reviews have been enthusiastic.
