"Vitis Aminea" ist ein Greco di Tufo von großer Typizität und Frische, der ausschließlich in Edelstahl ausgebaut wird. In der Nase zeigt er Noten von gelben Früchten, Aprikose, Trockenfrüchten, Orangenblüten und Honig. Am Gaumen hat er einen angenehmen Körper und Struktur, ist elegant und zart, mit einer klaren salzigen Frische.

The label "Vitis Aminea" by Cantine Astroni directly recalls the ancient history of wine: the name indicates a variety of distant Greek origin, whose diffusion can be traced back to the migrations of the Pelasgian people of the Thessalian Aminei and cataloged into six different types already in the 1st century AD by Pliny the Elder and Columella. It is precisely the Aminea Gemina Maior that would be the grape from which Greco di Tufo derives, a white berry already celebrated at the time for its rare qualities and its ability to produce unparalleled wines.

The grapes for the production of Greco di Tufo "Vitis Aminea" by Cantine Astroni come from vineyards owned located in the inland of Campania, in that historic wine region that is Irpinia: they are situated between 350 and 450 meters above sea level, in the areas of the municipalities of Fiano and Altavilla Irpina. The soil here is characterized by a clayey and calcareous matrix, and the plots are surrounded by a wooded landscape that significantly influences the temperature excursions. The grapes harvested are subjected to a short period of cryomaceration in stainless steel tanks, which allows for the delicate and as complete as possible extraction of primary aromas. A soft pressing precedes the alcoholic fermentation that always takes place in stainless steel containers, for a period of 15 days. In the same containers, aging on fine lees takes place for several months.

The Greco di Tufo "Vitis Aminea" produced by Cantine Astroni presents itself with a typical intense straw yellow color. The aromas are varied and very pleasant, announcing themselves with fruity tones that recall ripe white flesh and also the sweeter apricot. The vegetal notes are not lacking: a delicate white floral, a hint of cereal, and a breeze of dried aromatic herbs. The final nuance is decidedly marine, a reference that well introduces the briny sensation of the tasting: the sip is pleasantly fresh and mineral, balanced also by a certain warm note. An interesting territorial interpretation that can easily pair well with a seafood fry as well as a convivial roast chicken.
