Er zeigt ein sehr intensives und reichhaltiges Aromabild mit Noten von eingelegten Kirschen, Vanille, gerösteten Empfindungen und ätherischen sowie balsamischen Erinnerungen. Am Gaumen ist er streng, kräftig und mächtig, mit einer ausgeprägten Tannine und einer sehr langen Persistenz.
The Brunello di Montalcino 'Nicco' represents a prestigious and elegant expression of Sangiovese Grosso produced by the winery Capanna. This label was inaugurated with the 2016 vintage by Amedeo and Patrizio Cencioni, the owners of the estate, with very few examples made. The two identified a particularly suited plot within the Montosoli area, one of the most prestigious in the entire Montalcino region, deciding to vinify it separately to enhance its noble characteristics.
Capanna Brunello di Montalcino 'Nicco' is a 100% Sangiovese Grosso from a selection of the best grapes from a prized plot located within the Montosoli area. The vines, located at about 300 meters above sea level, are planted in galestro soils rich in clay and skeleton. The harvest is done by hand with careful selection of the bunches, which are then fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, associated with 20-25 days of contact between the must and the skins. Once the fermentation process is completed, the mass is transferred to Slavonian oak barrels of different capacities for aging for as long as 48 months, followed by an additional 12 months of refinement in the bottle before being released on the market.
The 'Nicco' Brunello di Montalcino from the family-run winery Capanna shows a brilliant garnet red color. Fascinating, refined, and intense, the olfactory profile is painted with aromas of ripe red fruit, spirit-soaked cherry, and sour cherry, adorned with hints of sweet spices like vanilla, toasted aromas reminiscent of coffee, and balsamic notes. Harmonious and rich taste, with muscular power well balanced by brilliant freshness and a dense but noble tannic structure.
