Der "Vertis" ist ein frischer und schlanker Verdicchio aus Matelica, vinifiziert und gereift in Edelstahl. Der Name auf dem Etikett stammt vom lateinischen vertere, was so viel wie wenden bedeutet, und identifiziert den höchsten Punkt, also den maximalen Ausdruck aus den ältesten und langlebigsten Weinbergen des Anwesens. Mit einer leuchtend strohgelben Farbe und grünlichen und goldenen Schimmern erinnert er in der Nase an Aromen von weißen Früchten, Zitrusfrüchten, Anis, Fenchel und weißen Wildblumen. Der Geschmack spielt mit einer klaren und spritzigen salzigen Frische, unterstützt von einer diskreten Weichheit.
The Verdicchio di Matelica “Vertis”, produced by Borgo di Paglianetto, is the classic version of the most typical and identity-rich white of the territory. It is the ideal bottle to understand the specificity of Matelica and its wines. In this area far from the sea, characterized by a very cool climate, Verdicchio expresses itself by combining the structure and aromatic richness typical of the grape variety, with the freshness and sapidity of a particularly vocated terroir. It is an exciting white, which pairs wonderfully with seafood first courses, grilled or baked fish.
Verdicchio di Matelica “Vertis” from Borgo di Paglianetto is born in an estate that extends over about 25 hectares, in the central area of the Valle di Matelica. The vineyards are managed in perfect harmony with the environment, under a certified organic farming regime, using only sulfur and copper for treatments. The vineyards are located in the Pagliano area, with a sunny exposure mainly facing south, on medium-textured soils composed of limestone and clay. The harvest takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October, with the harvest of perfectly ripe bunches. The grapes undergo a soft pressing, in order to extract only the must flower, which is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine rests for 6 months in steel tanks and completes its aging with a few months in the bottle before being released on the market.
Verdicchio di Matelica “Vertis”, produced by the winery Borgo di Paglianetto, is a splendid expression of one of the most vocated territories in Italy for the production of great whites. To the eye, it presents a light yellow color with slight golden reflections, which herald its fruit maturity. On the nose, it offers an intense bouquet, with fragrant citrus hints, aromas of green apple, cartucciaro melon, pear, white peach, fresh almond, vegetal notes of medicinal herbs, and delicate nuances of white flowers. On the palate, it is harmonious, with a perfect expressive balance between the pleasant and juicy fruity richness and a finish of great freshness and sapidity.
