"La Fussière" is a Premier Cru from Burgundy originating from the Maranges area, at the far south of the Cote de Beaune. It was here in Sampigny-les-Maranges that Jean-Yves and Isabelle Vantay founded Rouges Queues in 1998, a 5-hectare Domaine based on the values of sustainability and respect for the environment. The wines born from this artisanal philosophy have gained success in a few years and have become a reference point for the territory. The lands are cultivated with the classic local grapes: Pinot Nero and Chardonnay. In particular, Pinot Nero is the star of this label and comes from one of the most important climats of the young AOC Maranges.

The grapes of the Pinot Nero from Maranges 1er Cru "La Fussière" come from old vines located at 300 meters above sea level on clay-limestone soils, with a southeast exposure. In the vineyard, the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture are followed, and any form of synthetic chemistry is prohibited, thus aiming to preserve the integrity and vitality of the soil. Similarly,of the approach in the vineyard, in the cellar, human intervention is also minimized, allowing processes to occur spontaneously, just like the fermentation that takes place thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts. As per tradition, aging takes place in wooden barrels.

The Maranges “La Fussière” is dressed in an impenetrable dark cherry red cloak. On the nose, it reveals notes of small red fruits, cherry, strawberry, and a pleasant spicy and peppery nuance. The palate is juicy and of great purity, with a refined elegance and a pleasant savory finish. A top-class wine with crystalline quality capable of evolving over time!
