Thanks to the perfect balance between altitude, soil, and microclimate, the grapes of Malvasia find the ideal conditions for perfect and harmonious growth, giving life to a Selection with a balanced character and good longevity. A white wine that presents itself with a noteworthy body, whose finish impresses with a prolonged persistence, but never too intrusive. Borgo del Tiglio excels with this label, presenting a truly well-organized sip, which for Nicola Manferrari takes on a particularly special charm, bringing him to intensely experience the relationship with a grape that is particularly dear to him.
The Borgo del Tiglio winery creates this Selection starting from pure Malvasia grapes. It is a rather rustic grape variety, very resistant to diseases, whose origins are uncertain, but has always found in the Friulian terroir one of its natural habitats. Once in the winery, the grapes, carefully selected during the harvest, are gently pressed, followed by a brief cold maceration and alcoholic fermentation, carried out in oak barrels. The phase of refinement, which lasts 9 months in barrique, and bottling.
This Malvasia Selection signed by Borgo del Tiglio presents itself in the glass with a deep color, reminiscent of straw yellow. On the nose, well-defined aromas emerge, where floral and fruity notes are enriched by slightly woody touches. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, balanced, with a soft and complex sip, endowed with pleasant freshness; it finishes with a persistent aftertaste. A special label for Nicola Manferrari, who confesses to having a particular love for this Malvasia, and who recommends pairing it with lightly prepared fish dishes, where the taste of the sea is distinctly felt.
