The Barbera "Ca' di Pian" is a red wine that interprets the famous native Piedmontese grape variety in the name of elegance, also thanks to the choice of aging in barrique. It is a wine that fits perfectly into the production philosophy of the La Spinetta winery, which has always been attentive to enhancing the historical Piedmontese varieties and producing labels that are true and sincere expressions of the territory of origin, straightforward and without too many mediations. A vision that always aims to bring to the forefront and enhance the characteristics of the grape and its natural varietal expressiveness.

The Barbera d'Asti from Cantina La Spinetta is born in the estate located at the top of the hill of Castagnole Lanze, at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, with a magnificent southern exposure, characterized by the presence of predominantly limestone soils. The vines are between 30 and 35 years old and are managed with low yields to obtain intense and concentrated grapes. After the harvest, which usually takes place around mid-September or early October, the grapes are brought to the winery for fermentation in temperature-controlled rotofermenters. The wine then matures in second-passage French oak barriques for 12 months and is bottled without filtration or clarification. It completes the aging with 12 months in the bottle before being released for sale.

The red "Ca' di Pian" is a Barbera d'Asti that manages to combine the desire to preserve the typical characteristics of the grape variety, particularly its exuberant freshness and its pleasant fruity fragrance, with a wood aging process, which highlights its evolutionary potential and a mature, rich, complex, and long-lasting character. In the glass, it has a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it opens with intense aromas of small red fruits, cherry, sour cherry, violet scents, and light spicy nuances. On the palate, it is soft and lively, with a beautiful structure, juicy fruit, a refreshing and persistent finish.
