Nebbiolo d'Alba 'Valdolmo' Vite Colte 2023

The "Valdolmo" is a Nebbiolo that typically and faithfully interprets the main varietal characteristics of the starting grape. Ripe fruit and withered flowers on the nose lead to a round, smooth sip, where the tannin is always present but in the right amount, without being excessively aggressive on the palate. A label with a good body, which therefore requires dishes at the table that can support it, starting for example from game or red meat, ingredients that undoubtedly represent an excellent starting point for a truly satisfying pairing!

This "Valdolmo" is a pure Nebbiolo, cultivated by the Vite Colte winery in those vineyards located on the left bank of the Tanaro river. Here the soils are sandy, almost devoid of limestone. The grapes obtained from the destemming of the bunches are gently pressed, and the must obtained ferments in stainless steel containers, macerating for 15 days. The final aging lasts 12 months and is carried out in oak barriques; at the end of this period the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed.

The Nebbiolo “Valdolmo” develops in the glass with a typical light ruby color, not too deep and slightly tending towards garnet. On the nose, there is a range of typically varietal aromas, where the well-ripened cherry alternates with the delicate note of wilted rose, while more spicy nuances emerge from the background. On the palate, it is full-bodied, broad, and enveloping, with a sip featuring a balanced tannin, very well crafted. Vite Colte, an excellent cooperative reality, offers with this label a classic and typical interpretation of the red grape par excellence of the Piemonte region.
